Best $50 purchase – I got these headphones, so I would have a headset at my family’s place whenever I visit them (which is quite a lot). To begin with, the build of these headphones isn’t the best, like other customers say, it is quite flimsy for the price, this is the only big con I’ve had with them. The sound quality is insane for the price I got them for ($50). Their software, which digitally simulates 7.1 surround sound, is honestly a very good piece of software. I have a pair of Razer blackshark v2 headphones that I love, and I have to say the surround sound on these are much better than my Razer headphones. It has very deep bass, decent mids, with lackluster highs. Overall, for $50, I don’t think I could find a better headset for gaming. Strongly recommend these for people to have as a backup pair.

Very cheap, not covered by JBL Warranty – I used these every day, all day, as a Help Desk analyst. First off, they’re very cheaply made, to be as expensive as they are. Not a lot of complaints about sound quality, as long as you don’t mind picking up a lot of background noise; these are NOT “noise-cancelling” headphones so don’t be misled. You WILL pick up a lot of background noise. Apart from that, the cheap plastic casing that (supposedly) protects the internal wiring BROKE within the short warranty period. After contacting JBL Support, they confirmed the headphones were still under warranty, then refused to replace them unless I returned the defective headphones FIRST and “give us time to assess the damage and determine the cause and replacement options”. TRANSLATION: “We’ll look at it and return the damaged headset and say you broke it.” In addition to being very cheaply made, the quality is certainly not what I would have expected from someone with JBL’s name/reputation, but their lack of customer support is appalling. I will never buy anything with their brand or logo or from any subsidiary of Harmon Audio. They should be ashamed for refusing to support their own shoddily-made products.
